With only a few weeks to go to the retail peak season, Bol.com wanted to ensure that the chat app on their webshop was performing up to par. An important part of their customers’ questions is answered via this chat app. You can feel the importance of it to be able to handle a load of questions during our peak season. Both the customers and customer service experts couldn’t be let down.

Given the short notice, Bol.com asked Ymor to help by performing a performance test together with Bol.com and the supplier of the chat software. The aim was to determine if Bol.com could handle the predicted peak load. Performance testing a chat app brings extra complexity as it concerns two-way communication between systems: questions and answers.

For knowledge sharing purposes on the Bol.com Techlab, Bol.com initiated a podcast recording on this case. What did we do, how did we do it and what were the results?
